“You can’t lose what you never had, you can’t keep what’s not yours, and you can’t hold on to something that does not want to stay”
We hear what we want to hear,
We see what we want to see,
Our judgments may not be fair,
As we proclaim what we want to be.
I’m curious how we attempt to hold on to things we have no right,
We believe we have total authority over anything in our sight.
We seek additional justification for the choices that we all make,
Sometimes we need to let go of promises,
And give your heart a break.
We say what we want to say,
We live as we want to live,
Living is just another game we play,
In order to receive you must learn to give.
Sometimes you have to let it go in order to stay on track,
If it was for you in the end, you will surely get it back.
Nothing worth having comes easy, in life there must be pain,
Just remember to give it your all,
As it has no one else to blame.
