Take a moment to draw your breath, and then slowly exhale. Doesn’t it feel great to acknowledge that living is a gift that should not be taken for granted? Many times in our lives we forget that we are special to the people that truly love us. We should be ready, willing and able to draw strength from the gift of friends and family who bond with us each day.
We need to focus entirely on what we can do to better ourselves and grow as representatives of the love of God that dwells within us. I am not a religious man by any means, but I believe what lurks below the surface of confusion is a world of spirituality that with faith encompasses us all.
This year I've had my share of ups and downs while attempting to make sense out of what seemed to be a senseless existence. In the last few years I have grown to learn so much about myself as I proceeded to rip the veil off of others that have influenced my life. When you think you’ve arrived, then and only then will you come to understand that you really don’t know enough.
This constitutes a need to look at ourselves through the eyes of a child, focusing on the things that we are afraid to admit are our fears and ultimate challenges. To not want to better yourself and continue down a road to destruction is reprehensible, and speaks loudly about the essence of one’s character.
You can be a legend if you choose to be, accept your flaws and learn from them while reaching for higher ground. It’s all up to you to determine what you want from your life, be strong, determined yet meek.
Strive not only to be a legend in your own mind, but a true legend to those who have been offered the gift, of you.
